MEET A COX FARMER – Q&A WITH SUNSHINE!

SunshineWe’ve never known anybody so aptly named. Sunshine is a pint-sized human full of enthusiasm, perkiness and smarts all rolled into one! Of course, the first question has to be about her name!

Q: Is “Sunshine” your real name or a nickname?

A: It is my real name, my middle name. My mom had 4 kids in 4 years. Eight years later she had me and it was shortly after her own mother passed away. My mom named me Maria Sunshine because sunshine=happiness.

Q: How long have you been a Cox Farmer?

A: I started in 1993. Took a few Fall Festivals off when I was busy with babies, like 2007-2008.

Q: What is your job title and description?

A: I’m the Fall Festival Retail Market Manager and buyer.

Q: Where did you go to high school?

A: Centreville HS – I’m a Wildcat!

Q: If you weren’t working at Cox Farms, where do you think you’d be?

A: At home with my four boys, for sure!

Q: Favorite current song?

A: “My Way” by Fetty Wap

Q: Do you have any hidden talents?

A: Does touching my nose with my tongue count?

Q: Any pet peeves?

A: Complaining!

Q: What’s your favorite thing to eat at the Fall Festival?

A: Easy – a bacon-wrapped hot dog!

Q: Anything new to the Fall Festival Market this year?

A: We’ve moved our cashiers out of the market and into these little cottages which means 700 sq. feet of extra retail space! One of our new retail items is this slap bracelet!

Q: Best Fall Festival memory?  You must have a slew of them!

A: Meeting my husband here in 2002. You can’t top that!

Thank you, Sunshine! We can’t wait to see you in the market during Fall Festival and Fields of Fear. You brighten our day!
